Simple App

Content Design System

Challenge

Simple was struggling to present consistent copy, components, and guidelines on how to write about features across the app or in marketing materials. We had a bad habit of telling users to log items in their “Activity Tracker” when its actually called the “Movement Tracker.” Or we would inaccurately explain to users where to find certain features.

The reason? Not to be intentionally annoying, but because the writers were misinformed, and existing brand guidelines were outdated or overlooked. Everywhere you went, there were small but glaring moments that were bound to confuse or frustrate users. I led the creation of a new Content Design System, as well as fresh guidelines for product features. The result? Every writer could speak the same language—finally.
